Master Builders SA represents a sector that directly employs more than 55,000 people. Our members build houses for South Australian families, offices and warehouses for growing South Australian businesses, and the infrastructure projects that connect all South Australians.
Just as our members rely on the trust of the South Australian community, Master Builders SA and our members recognise we have a responsibility to support those most in need. We do so where there is a connection to our industry and where we believe we can make a significant difference
Master Builders SA is proud to be associated with the Returned Services League (RSL) and the work they do to support our service personnel and to honour the memory of the fallen.
In 2014, in recognition of our appreciation, we made a significant financial contribution to the RSL SA Branch to help fund the RSL Virtual War Memorial, a ground-breaking website project integrating historical community and personal information to explore the untold stories of our war heroes online.
Master Builders SA’s support of this project saw us awarded sponsorship of the Dardanellas Cross of Sacrifice (WW1) Anzac Memorial on South Terrace, Adelaide, originally opened at Wattle Grove, Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue in 1915. But the RSL Virtual War Memorial goes beyond the physical memorials located in our towns and cities and provides a comprehensive online resource and repository for anyone wanting to research or contribute to the commemoration of South Australia's and the Northern Territory's socio-military history, from the Boer War to the present day.
Most importantly, the RSL Virtual War Memorial gives voice to our Veterans, who are able to share their experiences first-hand. Students, families, interested individuals and organisations can also compile and share information about their heroes and thousands of service personnel whose names are not currently listed on any memorial or honour role are able to be recognised for their contribution and service to our country.
Master Builders SA congratulates the RSL SA Branch on the success of this fascinating project thus far and we encourage you to visit the site to learn more or to see how you can contribute visit http://www.rslvirtualwarmemorial.org.au
Australia’s defence industry relies on increasingly technical and complicated solutions to support our troops. Developing this capacity is not only a matter of national security; it is also a commitment to the development of skills and technical capacity that delivers the best solutions for Australia.
Any investment in uniquely Australian solutions is likely to develop direct knowledge and employment benefits for over the next 30 years. Master Builders SA also believes it will deliver a number of benefits to South Australia as we engage a global economy where technical capacity can secure a stronger future for South Australia.
