Do I qualify for CCP / CTP membership?

To become a CCP or CTP member you are required to meet certain criteria.

Certified Construction Professional (CCP)

The CCP designation recognises a professional working within or for the building and construction industry. These professions include, for example, chief executive officers, state construction managers, project directors and managers, site managers, safety personnel, contract administrators, architects and engineers. It may also include legal services, quantity surveyors, communications, ICT and marketing professionals.

To be eligible to apply for the CCP program, you will need:

  • Relevant industry recognised qualification (University level or equivalent).
  • Minimum two years’ demonstrable industry experience.
  • A referee able to attest to your commitment and expertise in the industry.

Should you not meet the above criteria, you may be eligible for membership through the Master Builders SA Grandfathering Scheme. To be eligible for the Grandfathering Scheme you will need 6 or more years' industry experience and a referee - with no need for formal qualifications. However, this opportunity is only available for those applying before May 31, 2017.

Certified Trade Professional (CTP)

The CCP designation recognises professional trade and site services. This includes, for example, plumbers, electricians, demolition and civil contractors, carpenters, high-risk work licence holders, painters and landscapers. Eligibility includes:

  • Relevant industry recognised qualification (Certificate III or above and relevant licence).
  • Minimum two years' demonstrable industry experience.
  • A referee able to attest to your commitment and expertise in the industry.

If you do not meet the above criteria for CTP, Master Builders SA will consider applications for applicants with five or more years' industry experience, plus referee.

Other limitations: Master Builders SA reserves the right to amend conditions for eligibility for the CCP or CTP programs at any time. All members agree to uphold and display professional ethics and act in such a way as to maintain confidence in the industry and the profession. Continuing professional development will be a future requirement of this designation. Master Builders SA reserves the right to revoke the CCP and CTP designations in the event that any of these conditions is breached. Eligibility is at the sole discretion of Master Builders SA.
