NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION CODE 2019 CHANGES - Presented by Chris Wiltshire - Master Builders SA
The Australian Building Codes Board provide amendments to the National Construction Codes every
triennium with the next scheduled amendments due to be adopted in May 2019. We will examine the
primary amendments, including quantified verification methods, amended performance requirements and the removal of concessions relating to bonded laminated materials.
 
TENDERING GUIDELINES - Presented by Rebecca Pickering - Master Builders SA
This presentation will provide an overview of the new tendering guidelines established by Master Builders SA, the Australian Institute of Architects (SA) and the Association of Consulting Architects South Australia. This document represents the best interests of tenderers, clients and the industry as a whole, to maintain methodical, consistent and transparent procedures for tendering building works.
 
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM) - Presented by Matt Rumbelow - C.R Kennedy Building Construction
This presentation will provide an overview of the new BIM products from Autodesk and Leica Geosystems. BIM provides an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture,
engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings.

We will be holding three one-hour information sessions that will present on the three main platforms of Master Builders SA Suite. Please see details for each session below:

Contract Builder
Tuesday 15 May at 4:30pm
Contract Builder easily creates legally compliant commercial and residential building 
contracts. During this session, we will provide a step-by-step process to create a contract, and an overview of the search function and status window. We will also cover accessibility issues, including who can access contracts, and monitoring access.

Employment Management System (EMS)
Tuesday 12 June at 4:30pm

EMS is an entry level, ‘cloud-based’ single user system which helps to minimise risks for 
businesses by assisting with the management of workplace investigations, misconduct, poor performance, complaints, counselling, warnings and termination of employment. During the session, we will provide an overview of the program, including how the system encourages managers to adopt best practice and minimise risks in respect of unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination and stress claims. We will also cover accessibility, including who can access documents and how to update this.

This session will cover your Quality, Safety and Environmental management systems (all document controlled) and aligned with ISO 9001:2016 AS/NZS 4801 ISO 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2015, including:

  • WHIMS interface to report hazards/incidents and generate reports
  • Integrated Management System (IMS) Manuals, Quality Manuals
  • Management Plans for Quality, WHS, and Environmental

All supporting QHSE (including policies, procedures, forms, WMS, SWMS, SOP’s & SWI’s)
